New: UEM's "Science Can't Explain It"

The latest release from LA-based experimental/noise artists UEM just might be their best yet. Science Can't Explain It includes UEM's performance at NorCal NoiseFest 2008, a remix of the show at the G3 Lounge in San Francisco, plus five new studio tracks, all assembled into an undeniable testament to the rebellious beauty that is wholly unique to UEM. It is a symphony of chaos -- or should we say Kaoss, as in the Korg Kaossilator, for this release is quite possibly the very first entirely Kaossilator-based full length album. Some Updates for July 2009

New: Friedman and Schwartz Improvised Duets

Bruce Friedman (trumpet) and Jeff Schwartz (bass) have released a series of duo improvisations recorded in March and April of 2009. Improvised Duets is a collection of robust and engaging free improvisations that, even while taking dramatic and unpredictable turns, maintain a sense of familiarity and delicate interplay that speaks to Friedman and Schwartz's long history as collaborators in the Los Angeles avant-garde community. New: Jeff Schwartz's Solo Bass I & II

As a member of numerous jazz, improvisational, experimental, orchestral, rock and you-name-it ensembles (including MESTO, The Watts Ensemble, Surrealestate, Melic Sub Rosa and others), Jeff Schwartz has been providing ample evidence of his depth and versatility for years. With Solo Bass I & II, his first unaccompanied release, Jeff puts his bass in the spotlight and, demonstrating his immense gifts as a soloist, dazzles the listener with prismatic expressions of experimental material in performances that are at once intimate and grand. New: Sean Peuquet's "You / Me"

New at Redline Park: Composer and sound artist Sean Peuquet has released a collection of selected electro-acoustic works, You / Me.  It's an impressive work featuring a mix of live electronics, experimental improvisation, and algorithmic compositions.

Vapor Logic II now available at Redline Park
